OH... there is a MASSIVE christmas tree going up right in the center of the village... when you come to church Sunday it's really going to feel like Christmas!check it out!The band & choir have rehearsal THIS SATURDAY!  We will be working out all the music, chords, cues, hits, cuts, swells, guitar solos, and more!  We're doing some of my all time favorites this year... AND my #1 all time favorite Christmas carol... can you guess it?  Pretty much everybody has covered it... N'SYNC, Mariah Carey, and the list goes on... it's epic.  seriously epic.So you've probably heard by now... the Christmas times are a little change for us this year:  DECEMBER 23 7PM & DECEMBER 24 6PMI really think it's super cool to get to do a Christmas Eve service this year.  It's just going to be special.  The Experience, we hope, will center all our thoughts on the reason why there even is Christmas.  We'll head down a journey of music/video/drama that will lead us to a place of Hope and Life as we marvel about how the God who created EVERYTHING, sent HIS SON, HERE.The next couple weeks around here are going to be crazy busy... so many more details to go... so much more stuff to set up... music to prepare... So if you would... pray with us!  Pray that God would show up.  Pray that beyond anything we could DO, HIS presence would be felt, and HE would be honored.  Pray that TONS of people will get there!  Not to just pack out the place, but so more and more people can hear of the life changing STORY GOD wants THEM to be a part of!!!!It's such an honor to get to do this... Merry Christmas!!!!Jason>blog home< Weekend Experiences 2009-12-09T19:33:22+00:00 http://www.oakbrookchurch.com//blog/entry/christmas_2009_behind_the_scenes http://www.oakbrookchurch.com/site/christmas_2009_behind_the_scenes/#When:12:56:08Z Christmas is here!  If you've been around Oakbrook you know that Christmas around here goes to a whole other level... and this year is no different!  We hope to create an experience that is incredible, that you can bring your family, friends and co-workers and they will be blown away!  Not just blown away by the production, but blown away by our great big God!  As I'm typing this I also have Photoshop open on my computer and am putting the final touches on all the graphics to send off the to print shop... this year you won't be handed a 'typical' bulletin when you walk in the doors... we've got something special in store!  (And you know I'm not gonna say... you'll just have to come to one of the two services to find out!)  If you see Brandon Lowry, our first Proteje Intern, give him a high five as he was the primary vision behind all the graphics for Christmas!  (What is a Proteje Intern?  Glad you asked! Check it out here)We've also got some suprises in store on the music front... we're doing a choir... but not just any choir...a MASSIVE choir!  Shall we say the biggest choir in the history of Oakbrook?  I think we shall... so if you sing any, send Monty Sanders an email and get in the choir!  (monty@oakbrookchurch.com) It's an incredible way to get behind the scenes, meet some new people, serve, and the view from up on stage as our Church worships is just awesome!  Joel Larison, Monty, and Brandon are also working on a new original arrangement of a classic Christmas carol that you will love!And to top it all off, Travis Carpenter, video extrodinare is working on some video that will make you think we have a movie production company right here in Kokomo!  All that to say...
