Hope everybody had a great weekend.
God gave us another great weekend of impact and worship at Oakbrook!
Big thanks to all the amazing volunteers that make our experiences happen week in and week out-we could not do church without you guys!
How awesome was it to watch Tanner get baptized? So proud of him for going public with his faith in Christ and for serving our country in the Marines! Way to go Tanner!
We are moving into a season of ministry where people who don't normally come to church are more open to coming so I want to remind you of one of our core values:
We Reach Out. We are about creating environments that are engaging to those who don't know Jesus yet. That's the reason we do church. We will create environments that boldly celebrate Jesus and attract people far from God. We can't help but invite others into the movement because it's everything to us. We will make bold invitations because we truly believe Jesus is the hope of the world.
Now is the time to make bold invitations! We have invitation cards you can use to get the word out to your friends about Oakbrook. Here's a challenge-try to give out 1 invitation card each week between now and Christmas. You never know what God will do through a simple invitation. 98% of those who come to Oakbrook came through the invitation of a friend!
We had a great time at Leadership Community last night. Big thanks to Greg Rhees for sharing his story of how God is using him to minister to people in our community! How might God use you to be the church in your world of influence?? At Oakbrook we don't just attend church-we are the church whatever we are!
Be praying this week for a group of our people that are leaving Saturday for a week of ministry in Haiti. They will be involved in a week long evangelistic crusade helping with music, drama, sharing their stories and sharing the gospel. Lets lift them up!

Mark, As a faithful supporter of all efforts of outreach giving our church sponsors - I feel that each time we are asked to give for a specific cause such as the coat collection or the Bibles for Haiti, soccer shoes, etc. - the body needs to be affirmed that such and such numbers or amounts were given. Many of us take these requests seriously and sometimes don’t know what happened It could be a side note in the bulletin or on the weekly Monday briefs. I think this done consistently will encourage everyone to give more and to be more willing to take the next step and give of their time and ideas for further outreach movements.
