A few thoughts from yesterday… 

• So excited to see another team of Oakbrook people heading down to Haiti! Don’t forget to pray for them. They leave Thursday. Pray for changed lives as they share the gospel message each evening.

• You guys took all 200 of the Streams in the Desert devotionals. Way to go! Can you believe they were free!! Generosity has to be one of the greatest values in the Bible.

• What random act of generosity could you do this week? Ask God.

•  BIG NEWS…Lakeside Bookstore will be open on Mondays 10:00am-3:00pm beginning Nov. 16^th through the holidays! Spread the word!! And don’t forget The Village is open all week for your enjoyment. God is in The Village-come meet with him!

• We had another weekend of huge impact with the next generation! Kidstuf was at Western Schools on Friday and at Oakbrook on Sunday. OSM had another great night last evening. Kidstuf is in Kokomo Schools this Friday…pray for them!

• I wonder if we really understand how blessed we are to have great next generation ministries at Oakbrook? The people who make UpStreet, Kidstuf and OSM happen are special!! If your kid is in one of these environments make sure you thank those who serve your kids…seriously.

• Congrats to all you Boilermaker fans out there. Really did every Boiler fan have to say something to me at church yesterday-really?? Beating MI at The Big House once in the last 43 years is quite an accomplishment (yeah that last sentence is dripping with sarcasm)…I feel better J

• I hope and pray The Way Out series has helped us all find some purpose in our pain. I really enjoyed ending the series at The Cross celebrating communion! The music team led us so well in worship…way to go!

• The Cross is such a beautiful picture of pain and purpose. After all these years I’m still amazed at what God did for us all on The Cross.

• Don’t forget…the way out is the way in…with God leading you-walk into your pain and you will find His purpose in your pain. Spend some time here this week…Isaiah 43:1-3.

• New series starts this weekend…Truth To Die For…can’t wait!

• Lots of ways to give and influence right now…Blood Drive, buy a kid some warm pajamas, 2^nd Saturday at Howard Haven…great opportunities to live like Jesus.

• I love that we are offering this…DivorceCare Surviving the Holidays. A new one-session program will be offered Monday November 14 or Monday December 16. 6:30-8:30pm. Do you know anyone who could benefit from this? Could you? Remember-the way out is the way in.

• Ok time to go hang out with my beautiful wife and my amazing grandson on a gorgeous day off. 68 and sunny in November-yeah God!!
