What a beautiful day yesterday…and a great day to be at Oakbrook! Some thoughts…
*Have you had the steal cut Oats from Lakeside Café’? Sandra Young hooked me up with some after the service…amazing and good for you!
*Big shout out to the hardest working man in the church business-Joel Larison! He led worship at the OSM Fall Retreat Friday night and all day Saturday. Got up Sunday morning and led worship at the morning service. Then came back and led worship at OSM. Whew I got tired just writing that…Way To Go Joel!
*Pray for Joel, as he is finishing school, preparing to get married in a few months and interviewing for jobs at churches in California and Indiana. That’s right we may be losing him at Oakbrook. I would love to hire him to and he wants to work here…but we don’t have the funds. Another reason why your giving matters so much…increase it and Joel stays-seriously!
*Really enjoying The Way Out series. Remember…we are all wounded and our pain has a purpose! Romans 8:28
*You find the purpose in your pain when you invite Christ into your mistakes and failures. Christ is enough!
*3 takeaways from yesterdays talk…Fail Forward…Allow Friends to Help You Through Failure…Allow God to use Your Failure for His Glory!
*I have been spending lots of time thinking, dreaming and praying about Oakbrook’s future and I’m so excited about some “Lions” God may be calling us to chase. The excitement is getting me up at night!
*Hey did you know The Village is open during the week for you? Come and read. Come and study. A team from Howard Community Hospital has been using The Village for offsite planning-your team can do the same. The view is awesome!
*I’m hearing great things about the classes @oakbrook. Big thanks to all the teachers! And so proud do f all you who are attending and learning!!
*Have you checked out our new website?? Love the simplicity of it. So easy to navigate. Way to go Jason Lee and Avin Kline for all the hard work!
