Monday Morning Recap, 04.19
A few thoughts on a GREAT day...
Ronda and I had so much fun meeting everybody at Coffee Talk after the service. So many new faces! Thanks to all of you who waited in line so that we could meet you. God is drawing so many great people to our church!
Big thanks to our music and tech crew for putting in a very full days work yesterday! Many of them started very early in the morning and then came back to produce the Worship and Prayer service last night. Job well done everybody and thanks for serving us so well.
Thanks to all of you who are inviting your friends to Oakbrook each week. Almost everyone we met yesterday at Coffee Talk was invited by a friend or family member. 25% of people who don't go to church say they would come if someone invited them!
I loved the challenge of James 2:14-18! We are not what we say, we are what we do. Faith without action is dead. Hows your faith? Is it real, is it authentic? Can you back it up with a life of deeds and good works which God has prepared in advance for you to do?
I can't wait to hear the stories that God will write as we all begin to live a life of Organic Compassion. Open your eyes this week and look for opportunities that God will put in front of you to serve and love people. Then when you see that opportunity...do it!
I heard about a small group that is giving $400 a month for the next 6 months to a person who has some challenging health needs and can't afford the cost of medical bills. Now that some serious Organic Compassion! God is smiling.
Don't forget to pray for Jason and Brigit Braun and Curtis Stout as they serve in Haiti this week.

* Got to pray last night at the Worship and Prayer service for a group of people who are starting a church in Logansport, IN this coming fall. The church is Revolution Community Church-I love that name! Anthony and Shawna Cozzello are leading a great group of people in this great adventure. Join me in praying for this Revolution!
One more thing...don't forget to bring your grocery bag full of food as we help re-stock local food pantries in Kokomo. With unemployment near 15% there are lots and lots of people in need. We are blessed by God to be a blessing so get to the stores this week, fill up those bags and then bring them next Sunday and place them on the stage.
As always...Don't Just Talk About It...Be About It...(Thats what James 2 is all about).

Mark, I’m so sorry I couldn’t stay after the service to meet you yesterday however I’ve talked to you before. I’m Jessica’s friend that was at the hospital the night you and Rhonda stopped by. I have to say, I’ve never felt more welcomed into an organization as I have your church. I started coming to service a few weeks ago and am thoroughly enjoying it. I tell Jessica it’s the best thing that’s happened to me in a very long time. Thank you all!!

Mark..I wanted to share a story of my neighbor boy who attends KID STUFF each week. Last weekend he came running to our Jeep as we were pulling out of the court and was full of excitement. He anxiously told us wanted to do something nice for somebody after his lesson in Church, and his idea was to mow our yard. I reminded him that our yard is two acres, but he insisted it was no problem. We came back two hours later and the job was done an looked great! Scott has been working lots of hours so this was a nice relief for him. Just another story of the huge impact that KID STUFF has on our kids.
