Monday Morning Recap, 04.05
It's Monday morning and I am still stoked about the Easter experience yesterday at Oakbrook!
Big, big thanks to all the volunteers and staff teams for pulling off another amazing Easter experience. Way to go everybody!
Yesterday was Oakbrook's 24th Easter experience. I have to be honest. Each year I get a bit nervous wondering if we will be able to create another Easter experience that will be moving and fresh and most importantly pleasing to God. But by God's grace our team did it again yesterday! After 24 years of awesome experiences...I need to relax ![]()
I loved the theme that our team came up with for Easter-ALIVE! Hoping and praying that more and more Oakbrook attenders will chose to live this way. Life is way to short to live any other way. So, I ask you again-are you ALIVE...what are the "good works" God has your name on?
Did the stage set, lights, video, graphics look "sick" or what!? (bty-sick is a term I hear my younger friends use...it means cool/awesome. My generation said "bad" which really meant "good"). Anyway, a huge shout out to those who work so hard making the set look "sick." Your efforts greatly enhanced the worship experience!
I love it when our team goes the extra mile in details to take an experience over the top. Like painting the stage to match the ALIVE graphic (did you notice?) This kind of effort takes a lot of time and hard work but I believe it honors God and reflects his love for excellence.
I absolutely loved hearing the ALIVE stories at the end of the service! Hearing stories of life change never gets old! And you guys...there are thousands more stories to be told in Kokomo! This is what Oakbrook is all about...Helping People Find Jesus and Live Like Him!
Big thanks to all of you who brought friends and family with you. Don't let Christmas be the next time you invite them back. Do it this week!
A lot of the music used for both Good Friday and Easter can be found on a newly released CD from Passion-Awakening. I picked up a copy of it last week at Lakeside Books and it is one of the best CD's I have listened to in a long time. You need to get a copy of this one you guys!! Available at Lakeside Books.
Can't wait to start the next series this Sunday-ALIVE and RUNNING! Get ready to be challenged to live like Jesus more than you ever have before! You up for it??
One more thing......Go Butler Bulldogs!!
Don't Just Talk About It...Be About It!
Love doing church with you guys!

I just listened to parts of the Passion-Awakening CD and it just makes me really appreciative of how ‘Sick’ our worship team is!!! How great is our God!

Mark- Lindsay and I went to Myrtle Beach for Spring Break, and unfortunately we were not able to make sunday’s Easter service, BUT the first thing we did when we arrived here on Saturday was check out Oakbrook.com after the Good Friday service… (though Lindsay wouldn’t let me vote for Bon Jovi via Blog anymore) anyway, it didn’t take long to hear about it either, our friends, Ryan and Steph text us IMMEDIATELY following Fridays service and told us how awesome it was and the SAME THING following Sunday’s Easter service…. Our good friends Robyn and Josh Whaley were in the “Awakening” video which gave us goose bumps all the way on the east coast!! Great job to the tech crew on the sets and songs and getting the website up-to-date so we can enjoy another incredible Oakbrook experience over 700 miles away!! We miss you guys, see you next sunday!!
