Monday Morning Recap, 03.29
If you were in the auditorium yesterday and didn't walk out feeling uplifted and moved, you should check your pulse 
After Aubri's song "How Deep the Father's Love for Us" (listen on youtube) my voice shaky; I was caught off guard by the power, truth and imagery of Christ on the Cross. I used to try to suppress such emotion-but now I simply let it out hoping people will sense the Spirit that is provoking me.
Then later, as I was talking us into taking the bread and cup, I caught my friend, Al, out of the corner of my eye. He was bowed and had my communion in his hand. That really hit me hard. I know he's been going through some tough soul-shaking things in his life. The kind of things where people sometimes turn away from God.
So to see him there in the posture of servanthood-serving me communion-I just couldn't let him get away. I think we could both sense God in that tight meaningful hug. Sometimes it's good to be there for one another-even if it is on stage during communion.
And I love to see my friend Mike smiling while playing his guitar. It has special meaning to me now-since doctors clearly said over a year ago, that he would in no uncertain terms, being playing rockin' guitar in church on Palm Sunday 2010. It's good for my soul to see evidence of answered prayers when those kind of prayers don't always get answered the way I'd like. Way to go, Mike. Way to go, God.
After the dust settled from Joel, Dave and the world's most dangerous church band leading us through worship---I couldn't think of a better way to jump start me into Easter week. A strong sense of the Holy Spirit is the pinnacle of things I hope for-and I felt Him strongly Sun. How about you?
See you Friday @ 7pm for Good Friday and then Sun at 9 or 11am.

Morgan, the service was outstanding! ! ! Your message was awesome. I was well aware of God’s presence when your voice trembled and I could see tears in your eyes from the back of the church. Aubri’s song was fanastic and made me cry. The pictures were very touching. No one could have left that service without feeling uplifted and glad they had weathered the rain to be there. my wife, the lovely Loon, said your message was inspired. I wouldn’t go that far, lest your ego get too big, but the message was outstanding. Good job. There are few things in life I love more than playing in that band. I consider it to truly be a privilege and a gift from the Lord directly to me. out.
