My thoughts from yesterday at Oakbrook...

Thanks to everyone who braved the cold weather yesterday!

I seriously can't think of a better place to be on Sunday mornings in Kokomo than Oakbrook! I know I'm biased but it's such an awesome environment...fun, meaningful, life giving, challenging, God honoring. Yesterday was one of those days were I am reminded how much I love our church!

The announcements yesterday were incredible! So creative, so much fun. Way to go Morgan, Joel and the whole band for making them unforgettable. Growing up I never walked out of church smiling about the announcements like I did yesterday...only Oakbrook! (Missed it? Check out the Video!)

I'm really enjoying watching and hearing more and more people express their adoration and honor to God in worship during services. Jason Lee wrote some good stuff on this reality in a recent blog post...check it out...http://www.clearlychaos.com

Let me personally invite you to the next Worship/Prayer night on Jan. 31 @ 6pm. Cameron Sprinkle will be leading us in worship that evening!

Big thanks to all who generously gave to the Year End Offering! We received $23, 373.00!!!!!!!! How cool is that? Can't wait to see how God uses our generosity to compassionately reach out to those in need.

Remember...You don't have what it takes to please everyone! Becoming obsessed with what people think about you is the quickest way to forget what God thinks about you. The fear of God is the best antidote for the fear of people.

Keep those hooks out of your nose this week Be a God pleaser!!

Some of you may have heard the recent news about a long time staff member Jeremy Carter doing some "lion chasing" in his life. So proud of them!

Next Sunday I'm talking about...You Don't Have What it Takes to...Handle it All. Like every weekend at Oakbrook this would be an awesome weekend to bring along a friend who doesn't go to church. Imagine what God can do through one simple invitation!
