Mike did such a tremendous job teaching us that what really matters in life is God, family, friends and the plan God has for our lives. Hey everybody. Hope your week is off to a great start. What a great experience God gave us yesterday at Oakbrook as we closed out the c2 series. Celebrating communion together was such a fitting way to conclude the series. Here are the c2 prayers I taught yesterday. Make them a part of your conversations with God this week.
Good day Connectors! First of all, I had the privilege of giving away 16 New Believer Bibles and praying with people who asked Jesus to redeem and lead their lives! They were from junior high to senior citizens and everyone in between. Some overcome with emotion barely controllable, some stoic. All testimonies that God is working in our midst! And answers to our collective prayer of: salvations, maturation, and movement in our church body. Our ekklesia (ek-luh-SEE-uh). Way to go to the KidStuf staff and amazing volunteers that kicked off the first one of the season Sun! And way to go parents, grandparents and relatives for going to KidStuf with your little guy or gal! Check out KidStuf the first Sunday in Oct. & Nov.
Welcome to another Monday everybody. Another day, another week to take the c2 journey! I will be praying for you throughout this week that God will give you a desire for more of Him. Thanks again to everyone who participated in the Fall Food Drive. Jesus said it is better to give than receive-so true! Happy Monday everybody! Hope your week is off to a great start. I got up this morning early and headed downstairs to my office for a time of "intake." I read 2 more chapters in the book-Not A Fan by Kyle Idleman-great book about c2! And then I went to http://www.youversion.com and read my Bible. I have been in 2 reading plans offered on youversion. One is Rick Warrens Daily Devotional Plan. It includes a couple of verses and then Rick's comments about the verses-good stuff! And the other plan is called-Life Journal Reading Plan-it is a one year reading plan and is designed to help you read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice each year.
2 services are here! Big thanks to all the volunteers who helped pull off 2 services yesterday. That was one smooth transition! Way to go everybody. Transit our new jr. high ministry is off and running! I heard it went great-45 students showed up! The C2 journey has begun. What a crazy Sunday! Never in 25 years have we had the power go out on a Sunday morning. But we called an audible and made the service happen regardless. Big thanks to all the people who quickly helped set up the warehouse. I loved hearing everyones voice as we sang about our great God! Big thanks to those who couldn't find a seat and stood the entire time! And for those of you wondering if we could get done 15 minutes earlier each week-not a chance!
What a full and awesome day at Oakbrook! I had a blast revealing the data from the "Reveal" survey we took a few months back. Hope you enjoyed as much as I did! One huge take away from Reveal: Personal Bible study/reflection is the most Powerful Catalyst of Spiritual Growth.
