Some thoughts from yesterday at Oakbrook... Big thanks to all of you who are helping us become the hands and feet of Christ to our Kokomo community. Thanks for bringing food to keep local food pantries stocked! Proud of you guys!! It was great meeting new people yesterday after the service. To those who stopped by Coffee Talk thanks for stopping by! And for those who are inviting friends to come with you on the weekends. Way to go! God is using you!!

More great stuff going on at Oakbrook yesterday! First how ‘bout the new stage look? Two of our Protégés, Derek Rody and Elijah Pickett, spent all last week making that happen! Are you kidding me? Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" with a smokin' horn section as the prelude! I was seriously jealous I didn't get to play drums with those guys wink

What a great weekend God gave us at Oakbrook! I'm sitting in my home office this morning reflecting on the weekend events and all I can do is smile. Bill Hybels once said, "There is nothing like the local church when the local is working right." And this weekend reminded me of how right he was when he made that stat

I am really excited for the week ahead of us at Oakbrook... Dad Camp 2 fires up this Friday night at Oakbrook Valley! Dads and their sons will be spending the weekend together building into each others lives. Please join me in praying for great weather, pray for Jason Braun and Doug Mygrant as they lead this great event and pray that God will do his work in Dads and Sons this weekend!

Really enjoyed the 5 Lies of the Devil series! I hope you are more aware now of the deception the evil one throws your way. By way of reminder here are the 5 Lies... Lie-Just follow your heart...Truth-Don't follow your heart, follow the Holy Spirit. Lie-God will never put more on us than we can handle...Truth-God can handle anything. Lie-You can't change...Truth-You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. Lie-Your faith is a Private issue...Truth-Your faith is a Shared issue. Lie-It's just Sex...Truth-Sex is more than activity it's Intimacy.
