Monday Morning Recap, 8.29

What a crazy Sunday! Never in 25 years have we had the power go out on a Sunday morning. But we called an audible and made the service happen regardless. Big thanks to all the people who quickly helped set up the warehouse. I loved hearing everyones voice as we sang about our great God! Big thanks to those who couldn't find a seat and stood the entire time! And for those of you wondering if we could get done 15 minutes earlier each week-not a chance!

Monday Morning Recap, 8.22

What a full and awesome day at Oakbrook! I had a blast revealing the data from the "Reveal" survey we took a few months back. Hope you enjoyed as much as I did! One huge take away from Reveal: Personal Bible study/reflection is the most Powerful Catalyst of Spiritual Growth.

Monday Morning Recap, 8.15

Happy Monday everybody! Hope your week is off to a good start. I love this time of the year. It feels almost like the start of "a new year." Summer is winding down, school is firing back up, football is around the corner, and people are making their way back to church. This is a great time for a fresh start! Why not? Pick up a new spiritual practice in this new season like Bible reading, consistent prayer, listening daily for God's whispers, using your spiritual giftedness to serve, join a small group. You grow when you get intentional.

Monday Morning Recap, 8.1

What an awesome experience at Oakbrook yesterday! Watching people get baptized is such a meaningful experience for me. Baptism always takes be back to the reason we do church. And yesterday was so meaningful watching two grandparents baptize their grandchildren! What a beautiful picture of multi-generational influence.

Monday Morning Recap, July 17

Thanks so much for praying for our Alabama Mission Team this past week; can't wait to hear how God moved in their experience! Another great job by Joel, Sean and our worship team this morning. It's great to see the diversity and unity of a guy like Tory Horner, who is a vice principal at KHS playing keyboards with a high school guitarist like Brandon Hughes. So good to be led by a team that's not pulling back in these days of summer vacations; so God-honoring.

Monday Morning Recap July 10

I am so proud of our mission team going to Alabama this week! That was so good to see 30 people on stage yesterday from elementary age to senior citizens. Let’s lift this team up in prayer from the time they leave Wed. until they return Sun. night!

Monday Morning Recap, June 20

I hope all the Dad's had a great day yesterday! Oakbrook is full of Dad's who do an amazing job investing into their kids. Way to go guys! I had a great afternoon with my family enjoying some great food, watching the U.S. Open and of course being Batman's sidekick...Robin the boy wonder! Check this out-Mason bought me this shirt for Fathers Day!

Monday Morning Recap, June 6

Hey everybody! I walked away from church yesterday with a deep sense of joy and satisfaction inside of me. What an amazing experience! I have been in ministry for awhile now and I'm still amazed at how God draws people to himself. The stories from those who got baptized yesterday reminded me that God is always at work! A grandmother faithfully prays for years that her grandson (a self-proclaiming atheist) will someday find Christ...and he does! A daughters father passes away and while she is going through his belongings she finds a book called "The Purpose Driven Life" begins reading it and discovers Christ! Amazing stories...only God! So thankful we as a church get to witnesses these amazing stories of God doing what only he can do!

Monday Morning Recap, 05.23

Another great Sunday experience at Oakbrook yesterday! The Solution series has been a great challenge for me personally and I like the tension it is creating in me. I always sit down in the front of the auditorium and yesterday my view was seriously obstructed by all the bags of food that people brought in to donate to local food pantry's! Big thanks to all who donated food to help re-stock our local food pantries!!
